Many of my neighbors are interested in Metronet. They have heard it is cheaper then Comcast.

Which is the best one for you?

I've had all three of the local ISP's (Internet Service Providers); Frontier, Xfinity, and Metronet. To decide which is the best one for you, first I think you should know each company’s main business.

Comcast / Xfinity is a TV and Pay Per View company.

Frontier is a telecommunication (the phone) company.

Metronet is a high speed internet access company.

 Comparing features and prices reminds me of the old days of buying a computer. I would walk in to a store and clerk would ask which one I was interested in. Conversation would go like this:

Clerk; Which computer are you interested in?

Me; Not sure.

Clerk; Well, depends. What do you want to do with it?

Me; What can they do?

Clerk; ….. Starts rattling off many tasks, features,

Me; How much for all that?

Clerk: Gives me price that is beyond what I imagined.

The main problem was I had no idea what all that stuff meant. The clerk was not speaking my language since he was trained to sell his company’s products.

If you keep in mind the core business of the ISP’s, it will be somewhat easier for you.
