Rhapsody in Blue and An American in Paris
Categorizing music that I like into specific genres does not work. How do I convey the enjoyment I get out of listening to Stravinsky's "The Rite of Spring" and The Rolling Stones "Midnight Rambler?" The enjoyment is equal, yet different.

Music of the Month is Eric Dolphy
This month's music is from Eric Dolphy, his 1963 concert at the University of Illinois. I like Dolphy's playing because it is explosive, and a bit out of kilter. He approaches a song from the edges, though not out of "left field" as the saying goes.
