Following Jesus is hard. It always has been, but especially at this moment in time.

The daily Lectionary recently had readings from 1Kings, chapter 2. I was reminded of "The Godfather" film.

The Apostle Paul explains to the Jewish Christians who are concerned about their fellow Jews who do not accept Jesus as the Christ, that God is sovereign.

So, THAT is what is meant by "the LORD lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace."
