I stumbled upon the "Bruno, Chief of Police" series last month. Man, I really like it.
It is set in a small village in rural France, just East of Bordeaux. Very good characters, but it is the description of the area and the food... the FOOD that is just too.... tasty.
Grab any book in this series. The one I read today is a very good short story.
