I've read 2 of the books in this series. I'm impressed with the characters in the village and the mystery development for each book. The mysteries are surprising, and fresh.
The villagers can be eccentrics - I can feel the place. Bruno has a soul - he cares for his fellow villagers. The stories of the characters can be messy, just as in life - gotta wrestle with right and wrong.
Just don't read this series if you have not eaten yet, you'll get hungry quick reading scenes of their dining and wine.
