With the parole of the man convicted of the murders, I got interested in the event. I found the book at my local library.
"Chester Weger, convicted of 1960 Starved Rock murders, granted parole"

The book is short and to the point; telling the story of the murders and the people involved using the published records and court documents primarily.
This is much quotation from interrogations and court transcripts. I found this approach dry, yet it does help convey the sense of being there. It's a strange story where embellishing it with your own thoughts would take away some of the questions.
Yeah, I recommend it.
